2022 Ram 1500: Some New Stuff in a Great Truck

2022 Ram 1500: Some New Stuff in a Great Truck

The latest version of the Ram 1500 is a truck that feels like it offers you more trims than any other Ram of this size in the past.

Maybe that’s because it does, maybe that’s because it looks different in different trims, and maybe it’s because the 2022 model is celebrating the 10th Anniversary with a new Limited 10th Anniversary Edition. No matter why this truck feels like it gives you more, you can use it to get a lot of work done and know that you’ve got the right truck on the road.

What Does this New Model Offer?

The special version, Limited 10th Anniversary Edition of this Ram truck gives you a specific package. This model has an exclusive Blue Shade of paint, a multi-function tailgate, a cold-air intake, unique badging, 22-inch polished wheels, and a posh interior with quilted leather seat, a suede headliner, and a 19-speaker premium sound system.

Something Else That’s New for the Ram 1500

You might already think the mighty Ram 1500 TRX is new and powerful, but an Ignition Edition makes its way to the lineup for 2022. This truck is painted in Ignition Orange, rides on a set of black 18-inch wheels, has a spray-in bedliner, gives you special graphics, and has a specialized interior. This interior area has copperhead orange stitching, copper-colored carbon-fiber accents, a head-up display, a panoramic sunroof, and a set of all-weather slush mats with an orange Ram’s head logo.

The GT Model is also New and Special

Add the GT package to the Laramie or Rebel models of this truck you’re going to have some upgraded appearance and performance items during your ride. This GT setup gives you a performance hood, a black grille, GT decals, a cold-air intake, high-bolstered bucket seats, a flat-bottom steering wheel, aluminum paddle shifters, and metal pedal covers.

The Total Comes to Eleven

If you’re trying to count up the number of trims offered for the Ram 1500, you’ll come up with eleven. These trims are Tradesman, HFE (High Fuel Economy), Big Horn, Lone Star, Rebel, Laramie, Longhorn, Limited 10th Anniversary Edition, Limited, Back Country, and TRX. That’s a lot of different trucks for you to choose from when you’re looking for the right one to drive.

More Things for You to Choose From

Do the eleven trims make you feel dizzy? Well, you’ll also have four different engines to give you the power you want, all of which make use of an eight-speed automatic transmission. The maximum payload for this Ram truck is 2,300 pounds and the max towing is 12.750 pounds. In most trims, you can choose from the first three engines, which are:

• 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine making 305 horsepower and 269 lb.-ft. of torque
• 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel V6 engine making 260 horsepower and 480 lb.-ft. of torque
• 5.7-liter Hemi V8 engine that offers you 395 horsepower and 410 lb.-ft. of torque

All three of these engines can be set up in either 2WD or 4WD.

The top engine is a 6.2-liter supercharged Hem V8 that is reserved for the Ram 1500 TRX. This engine produces 702 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft. of torque to give you the right amount of power to blow to doors off of every other truck on the road.

Enjoy the Fastest Connectivity in this Ram

The Uconnect 5 infotainment system is the fastest version of this system ever offered in the truck you want to drive. You’ll be pleased to have the benefits of Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a Wi-Fi hotspot through this system. You’ll have to look to the Big Horn model or above to get this system. When you move up to a model that has a large 12-inch touchscreen, you’ll have one of the biggest screens for any infotainment system.

Sometimes, it’s the Little Things

Add the Trailer Tow Group to the Ram 1500 you drive and enjoy a new LED light that illuminates the trailer hitch area from above. This will help you see the hitch at night using the electronic reverse steering control, which offers a knob that makes backing a trailer into the right position much easier for you.

You’re Going to Need Help Picking Out Your Truck

If you know the Ram 1500 is the truck you want to drive, you should see your local dealer and ask for some assistance. With a ton of options, eleven trims, and four powertrains, you’ll want some assistance to find the right version to meet your needs and take you where you want to go.
