A New Model May be Coming from Mazda

The new Mazda CX-30 crossover has already debuted and is a small SUV that has a focus on high end, crafted design to show you what Mazda can do. Recently, a trademark application was filed with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) which would use the name MX-30. The MX part of the name has been used for sports cars from Mazda for a long time and it hints at the chance that a new sporty car would be coming from this brand and offer us an amazing drive.

The Rebranding Makes this Even more Exciting

Recently, the new Mazda3 was offered and it’s certainly far more luxurious than its predecessor while also being a bit more expensive. The fact is, we’re going to pay for the quality offered, which has been proved with other Mazda models in the past. The question that comes to mind when we think of a new MX-30 is whether or not this will be a new replacement for the MX-5 or a sporty and engaging version of the Mazda3 that has true track performance items that can be enjoyed on the road and the tarmac.

Another Possibility for this New Name

Even if the new MX-30 name isn’t a replacement for the MX-5, it could be the successor to the RX lineup that we haven’t seen in a while. That would mean the MX-30 would be a small sports car that offers engaging prowess and incredible performance to be the car that will take its place in the lineup and finally give us a new sports car to drive. Of course, an MX-5 replacement might be met with an uproar as the Miata has gained a nearly cult following over the time it’s been on the market.

It’s Still Too Early

We can imagine and wonder what the new MX-30 model will be and what it will offer for the drive when it does arrive. The application for a trademarked name can be viewed as a precautionary measure and that’s all. The precaution is to make sure the names that Mazda wants are reserved for them as the brand has applied for trademarks for the names of CX-10 through CX-90 as well. Hopefully, we will learn more about what the filing for MX-30 means in the near future.
