The Toyota Yaris Changes its Stripes

The Toyota Yaris Changes its Stripes

The Toyota Yaris is a model that will be a hatchback that comes from the Mazda2 to be a great little car that has a lot more style for you.

We’ve had the Toyota Yaris in the market for a long time, but when the sedan made its way to dealerships, the car came from Mazda as a rebadged Mazda2. The front of the Yaris sedan will continue to offer the look we want to see, and the Yaris hatchback is one that looks consistent to give us the look we want to enjoy.

Familiarity Does Not Breed Contempt

Sometimes, the place we spend our time in a vehicle is exactly the way we want it to be. The interior of the Yaris is essentially the same as what the Mazda2 offered in the past and it’s similar to the Mazda CX-3. With that in mind, the fact that the new platform and new build of this car will give us a familiar interior to enjoy makes it even more exciting to have the Yaris hatchback that’s upgraded by Toyota.

Going Under the Hood

Toyota equips the 2020 Yaris hatchback with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 106 horsepower. This is a familiar engine and it will make use of a six-speed automatic transmission for the drive as well. Currently, the sedan version offers us a six-speed manual, but when the new hatchback shows up, it will only have the automatic for the drive.

This is an impressive improvement compared to the outgoing four-speed transmission that was offered in the previous version of the Yaris hatchback. With this change, we can hope to see the hatchback reach close to 40 mpg on the highway, which is what we have in the current Yaris sedan.

An Expected Trim Lineup

Many times, when you see a car that comes in both sedan and hatchback models, the trim levels for the hatchback start at one level above the sedan. This will be the case with the Yaris which will be offered in LE and XLE models for the hatchback in 2020.

This means you can have alloy wheels, heated side mirrors, fog lights, keyless entry, push-button starting, automatic emergency braking, and a seven-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are all included for the connectivity you desire.

Get Ready to Drive the Yaris

The Yaris hatchback has been off the market for a bit, but now it’s back. Toyota is bringing back this little car and giving us the styling and active drive that was part of the Mazda2. This means you can forget the boring old driving of the previous Yaris and get ready to have a bit more fun when you take this car on the road.

The pricing for this little hatchback will come to you at an affordable level to make this a car that can be perfect for you when you’re on the road.
