A New Performer in the GT3 Racing Series

The McLaren brand and name was built on racing and the company keeps that tradition alive with a variety of excellent race cars that are added to several racing series around the world to be amazing to watch. A new model is ready to enter the GT3 series and become the McLaren car that we can admire as it makes the circuit at different courses. This new car is the McLaren 720 S GT3 race car which is being unveiled ahead of the entrance into competition for the 2019 season.

This new McLaren race car uses the same MonoCage II carbon fiber tub that’s used in the supercar with the same name. This car also has the 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine installed to give itthe power needed. Strangely enough, if you were to purchase a 720 S, you’d have more power on tap than the race car because the GT3 racing category limits how much power a car can have in order to keep things fair on the track. With this race car, the power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed sequential racing transmission and a Salisbury-type limited slip differential.

More Changes to Make This a Race Car

When the new 720 S GT3 makes its way to the track it’s going to have a new braking system with optimized brake calipers, an enhanced cooling system, and improved durability. The rear suspension will also enjoy a new geometry with four-way adjustable dampers. The cabin of the race car offers an adjustable pedal box and adjustable steering wheel. There are a few options for this race car including a rearview camera with an in-car display and a tire pressure monitoring system that can help the driver have the information needed.

Stability Offered for the McLaren 720 S GT3

The team at McLaren put their minds together to not only create a fast race carbut to create one that’s stable and easier to drive for less experienced racers. They also created this car to be more fuel efficient, inexpensive to run compared to other race cars, and offer improved tire management and reliability, even when compared to the outgoing 650S GT3. With track testing already being completed, this is a car that race teams will begin to take delivery of later this year to be ready for the 2019 racing season.
