What is the Range of the Kona Electric?

As this new SUV is preparing to make its way on the market, we want to know as much as possible about how the Hyundai Kona can be right for you to drive. The European test cycle rated this vehicle at 310 miles, but the US EPA, which uses a stricter testing criterion, rated it at 258 miles of range from a single charge. This means you’ll have plenty of range for you to enjoy the drive you need so that you can get where you need to go on a daily basis.
The power for the Kona Electric comes from a 64 kWh battery pack to create this range, but this is the long-range version of the vehicle. The power numbers show up at 201 horsepower and 291 lb.-ft. of torque which is enough to make it possible for the Kona Electric to reach sixty mph in 7.6 seconds and give you a top speed of 104 mph. Another Version of the Kona Electric

There is a short-range version of the Hyundai Kona Electric that will be offered after the long-range model is brought to the market. The version that gives you a shorter range is powered by a 39.2 kWh battery pack to provide 133 horsepower for the drive. Using the European scale, this model can reach up to 182 miles of range, which means it will likely have about 150 miles of range when the EPA gets hold of it and tests it. This new SUV could be the perfect choice for you when you don’t need as long a range for the drive.

Looking Forward to this SUV

We don’t have the pricing for the new US-spec version of the Hyundai Kona Electric yet, but it’s expected to be nearly $45,000 for the long-range model. Right now, the European models offered on the market are in high demand and the factory is having trouble keeping up. This could be good news for Hyundai which will bring this model to market and be an SUV that joins the Ioniq Electric in the market as another SUV that Hyundai has for our driving pleasure that can also help save the planet by using only electricity for the drive.
