2016 Rolls-Royce Phantom: The Celebratory Swan Song

06.14.16 - 2016 Rolls-Royce Phantom

Every automaker has a flagship model, but if you consider the fact that Rolls-Royce is the flagship brand on the market the Phantom would be the flagship model of the entire industry. Of course the price of this car comes in at such a high number that most of us can’t even come close to affording it and the Phantom has no real competition on the market but has to compete with other high priced purchases that could be made instead. For those few who will enjoy this car in its final year of production the massive V12 engine and perfect ride will be a great addition to their collection of super exotic luxury vehicles.

There is nothing you can’t love about the Phantom. This car is made to order exactly as a new owner wants it to be with every possible feature. The only limitation is the imagination of the new owner. As the end of the Phantom Zenith Collection this car is offered in the coupe or convertible form this car now offers a special Spirit of Ecstasy figure, a Tailgate Hosting area, armrests that are laser etched with depictions of the original launch of the Phantom and everything else a new owner would think to put in a car of this variety.

Most likely those who own this car won’t be the ones doing the driving, which means the chauffeur will love the smooth ride and exceptional power this car has to offer. This is a large car that will carry the new owners in the perfect way to their destination in style and grace where they can enjoy the champagne and a picnic from the specially made serving area that makes up part of the trunk space where the Rolls-Royce glasses and basket are kept.

While the Phantom can offer owners any feature they want and we have even heard stories of Rolls-Royce owners who will buy two cars just to allow the company to test and create the perfect car for them there are some features which should be present on all models to love. The new Phantom has the rear hinged doors that give the car the class needed at the height of the industry and offer a retracting hood ornament to ensure the Spirit of Ecstasy will have a special place inside the grill to keep vandals from stealing the item off the car.

We can’t discuss a Rolls-Royce model without the engine being part of the talk. For many years Rolls-Royce has used a V12 engine in their models and this Phantom is no exception. The engine under the hood is a 6.75-liter V12 that has 453 horsepower and 531 lb.-ft. of torque that is attached to an eight-speed automatic transmission. This car can reach sixty mph in 5.7 seconds in the coupe or 5.6 in the convertible. These models are limited electronically to 150 mph on the sedan and 155 on the convertible to show a car that doesn’t need to show off with massive speed, just with the high quality that Rolls-Royce is known for.

Each one of these cars is handmade in Goodwood, England and shows us the old world craftsmanship that we want to witness on the market. The layout of the interior offers an iDrive controller for the infotainment system that makes it easy to drive and enjoy the ride. Of course owners will love the hand stitched leather and the intricate wood and carpet that makes up much of the interior of this car that is perfect for any owner to enjoy.

The Phantom is a large car that is eighteen feet long on the coupe and convertible and up to a little over twenty feet in length for the Extended Wheelbase model. This car offers the perfect style for most of us to admire and only a few to actually own and drive. As the final year celebration takes place the fifty models that are being built are already spoken for. Maybe you will get the chance to be able to enjoy the looks of one of these awesome cars in a collection during your travels.
