As its time to say farewell to the Boxster in its current form as the next model will be powered by a four-cylinder engine that is turbocharged instead of the engines we are familiar with this car still hits all the high notes we want. This is a dynamic driving car that is perfect for you to enjoy on the road or on the track as one of the only true sports cars that you can have with the Porsche name on it and still enjoy the awesome performance the Boxster has to offer.
The thing about a Boxster is you already expect any Porsche to be amazing to drive and then when you step inside it’s even better than you thought it could be. The Boxster is a car that never disappoints you and offers a wonderful driving experience and is one of the only value-oriented models from this highly acclaimed name. For this final year of the current model you can have the Boxster as a Spyder that gives you the fun of a convertible and the beauty of a sports car that can have the top removed. There is a new Boxster Black Edition as well with dark accents, 20-inch Carrera Classic wheels and items such as heated seats, a navigation system and an upgraded audio system.
One of the main selling points of the Boxster has been that it is the Porsche for the regular driver. With that in mind you can enjoy perfection on four wheels with this car and feel what everyone loves about Porsche. The power is what you want and the steering is direct to give you a car that is easy to drive and one that lets you learn what features like torque vectoring and an active suspension system mean for driving.
Three versions of a six-cylinder engine can be enjoyed on the Boxster all of which use the standard six-speed manual transmission but can be had with an optional seven-speed PDK automatic if you don’t want to row your own gears. The first of these engines that is found on the base model is a 2.7-liter flat six-cylinder engine which offers up 265 horsepower and 206 lb.-ft. of torque. this is enough power to allow the car to reach sixty mph in only 5.5 seconds making it a respectable choice and one that offers the best overall fuel mileage.
Next we see the 3.4-liter flat six-cylinder engine that is used in the Boxster S and GTS. This engine in the S shows up with 315 horsepower and 266 lb.-ft. of torque. With this engine tuned this way you can reach sixty mph in only 4.8 seconds. On the GTS tuned version you enjoy 330 horsepower and 273 lb.-ft. of torque. This version will let you make the sprint in 4.5 seconds and enjoy reasonable fuel mileage for both engines. This engine is the one most chosen when you look to the Boxster in its typical form instead of the Spyder version.
At the top of the engine lineup is the 3.8-liter flat six-cylinder engine that is found in the Boxster Spyder. This engine will give you a full 375 horsepower and 309 lb.-ft. of torque. With this engine the Porsche Boxster is able to reach the sixty mph sprint in only 4.3 seconds. All three engines are mounted in the middle of the car and give you the power you need to the rear wheels of the car. With this top engine you will love the power you get and know that you need to head out to the track and see exactly how great this car can perform for you.
As with most of the Porsche sports car lineup, the Boxster takes full advantage of being a two seater roadster that is perfectly balanced and enjoyable to drive. There is plenty of room for people of a variety of heights to drive or ride along in this car to be a place you can love. This area is quiet and offers you the smooth ride that makes for one of the most enjoyable experiences in your life from inside any car. The top down ride is exotic and alluring while the car offers a top up design that you know to be of the name Porsche offers. The bulbous headlights and sloping shape of this car make for a gorgeous vehicle to behold and one that you can easily enjoy before you ever step foot inside the vehicle. There is no way you will think of this as anything but a true Porsche and its one that you can love for a long time.
There is plenty of great equipment for the Boxster at any level. The seats come in with manual adjustments for height and for forward and backward positioning, but most of the car is extremely perfected for luxury sport performance. These features include the power folding roof with heated glass, the HomeLink garage door opener, a four-speaker 50-watt audio system, a seven-inch color screen for the infotainment system, 18-inch wheels with the S models offering 19-inch wheels and the GTS and Spyder versions being driven on 20-inch wheels.

These last two items may be options because this car is focused on performance, but they won’t cost you extra to add to the car, making them choices you can make when you want the Boxster to be a car you can drive on a daily basis.
When you consider the Boxster to be the car of choice with a price that starts a little over $53,000 this is a car you can enjoy that is competitive with other sports cars on the market.
