The Long-Anticipated Hyundai Ioniq 9 Will Soon Be a Reality

Hyundai continues to lead the charge when it comes to electric vehicles, and they are only getting bigger and better. A new three-row SUV is coming to the United States as a 2026 model. The Ioniq 9 will have room for six or seven people, will arrive with more features, and longer range than any other EV in the Hyundai lineup.

Get Ready to Upgrade Your Family Vehicle

If you’ve always shopped for used cars when it’s time to upgrade your ride, you may want to reconsider when the Ioniq 9 arrives. This new SUV has a lounge-like interior that you and your passengers will love. Since it’s an EV, it has a totally flat floor. The wheelbase is nine inches longer than the Palisade, and the roof is 1.6 inches higher. That’s a lot of space to get comfortable in.
And get comfortable is what you can do in this new SUV. The second-row captain’s chairs can swivel when the vehicle is not moving, and the optional Relaxation seats for the first two rows will fully recline if you need to take a quick nap.

Let’s Talk Power

When it arrives in the U.S., the Ioniq 9 will have three different motor configurations. The Long-Range rear-wheel drive version will have a motor that develops 215 horsepower. Long-range all-wheel drive models add another motor to the front axle and get an additional 94 horsepower.
There will also be a Performance all-wheel drive model with the 215-horsepower motor on both axles. When you press on the accelerator in the Performance model, you can expect to zip right to 60 mph in under five seconds.

What About Charging the Ioniq 9?

All three of the Ioniq 9 models will have a 110.3-kWh lithium-ion battery. In spite of this large pack, it will only take about 24 minutes to go from 10 percent to an 80 percent charge if you use a 350 kW DC fast charger.
If you’re wondering where you can charge, it will come with the North American Charging Standard port, so you can plug it into Tesla’s Supercharging network.

Lots of Infotainment and Tech Features

This new SUV checks all the boxes when it comes to your infotainment. Two 12.3-inch screens stretch across the dashboard behind a curved panoramic display. One is a touchscreen for the infotainment system and the other is a digital cluster for all the important info you need while driving.

You can fill up your Ioniq 9 with passengers and everyone can plug their device into a USB-C port. There are 100-watt ports for each row, providing everyone with enough juice to keep them fully charged. And what may be even better is there are no fewer than four cup holders in every row. Everyone can bring a drink, and possibly an extra.

There are still more details about the 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 9 to come, but what we know is already impressive.
