The Chevrolet Equinox EV. It may share a name with a Chevy we know and love, but it’s new and innovative in more ways than we can count.
Designed from the ground up as an all-new model, it has the intention of getting you all the performance and capabilities you expect from a Chevy but in the most environmentally friendly and efficient form possible.
This all-new model is making a splash everywhere it goes. Here’s a closer look at what you can get with the new Chevrolet Equinox EV.
Engaging Driving Experience
The Equinox EV runs on the Ultium lithium-ion battery platform. The combination of electric and battery power generates 210 horsepower and 242 pound-feet of torque, making it just as powerful as its counterpart, the gas-powered Chevrolet Equinox.
It has just enough torque to give you that sporty driving experience you want, and it can propel it from zero to 60 mph in just six seconds.
The four-wheel drive version of the Equinox EV gets 290 horsepower and still gives you a powertrain that is cleaner than a gas engine.
Innovative Technology
You’ll get more tech in the new Equinox EV than you probably thought possible. It has an 11-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system in the lower trims, but a massive 17.7-inch touchscreen comes in the higher-end models.
Connect your phone for hands-free calling, managing your media, and getting directions. In front of the driver, there’s another 11-inch screen with all the information you need to keep tabs on your Equinox.
The safety systems are just as innovative and designed to keep you and those around you safe. Feel confident every time you get behind the wheel with features such as forward collision warning, automatic braking, and front pedestrian braking. You’ll also have a following distance indicator, automatic high beam headlights, and lane-keep assist to help you stay aware and alert and avoid accidents.
Slick Accommodations
You won’t mistake the Chevrolet Equinox EV for any other SUV. It has its own unique look and personality with the perfect combination of traditional SUV styling and futuristic elements.
The front and rear lighting has a completely new look with a design that improves visibility. The two-tone paint scheme makes it stand out, but the horizontal light strip on top of the grille grabs attention even more. Every detail is thought out, right down to the wheels that give this SUV a sense of energy and motion.
Next-Level Charging Capabilities
If the thought of having to stop and charge up your battery is keeping you from switching to electric, the Chevrolet Equinox EV is ready to change your mind. It has the latest in charging technology, which means you can get more miles in less time. With the standard 11.5 kW batter and Level 2 charging, you can get 34 miles of range in an hour, and the 19.2 kW Level 2 charging for the 3RS will get 51 miles in an hour.
The DC fast charging is where you’ll see the biggest difference though. You can get up to 70 miles in just 10 minutes. That’s just enough time to grab a coffee or stop for a quick bite when you’re on the road.
