Unveiling 2 Beloved Chevy Models and 2 Models That Leave Drivers Cold
Chevy is one of the nation’s most popular, long-standing automakers. Chevy’s foundation rests upon reliable power, impressive performance, and practicality, making it the consistent choice for drivers time and time again.
If you’re venturing out to purchase a new vehicle from your local Chevrolet dealer, you might be wondering what models are the best-performing and which are the least-performing. Today, we’ll take a close look at two Chevy models that drivers can’t get enough of and two models that have seen a decline in sales over the past year. Read on and explore which Chevy models are making all the buzz this year.
Two Chevy Models Dominating Sales
Chevy has dominated the industry as being one of the leading automakers for quality, comfort, and powerful vehicles. When it comes to the automaker’s two most popular models, drivers can’t get enough of the Chevrolet Blazer and electric Bolt.
After releasing its first quarter sales figures, the automaker reports that it has sold nearly 400,000 units in the first quarter of 2023. This is a 16% growth from the same time last year. As the automaker continues to see growth year after year, the Bolt and Trailblazer have stood out as best sellers. According to GM Authority, Chevy sold 28,000 Trailblazers in the first quarter of 2023, a massive jump from the 8,600 units sold during the same time last year.
GM Authority also reports that the Chevy Bolt experienced a surge in demand as well. The automaker sold nearly 2,000 units in the first quarter of 2023 compared to only 360 units during the first quarter of 2022. It’s worth noting that the surge in sales is largely due to the fact that Chevy recalled the Bolt last year, causing a pause in production.
Chevy Models That Drivers Are Slow to Buy
While the Bolt and Trailblazer have been absolutely dominating the sales scene, Chevy’s Blazer and Colorado haven’t been doing as well. In the first quarter of 2023, Chevy was able to sell just about 15,000 Blazers. This is a slight decline compared to the 19,000 units sold during the same time last year.
Likewise, the Colorado has struggled just as much to stay relevant with consumers. This midsize pickup sold just over 13,000 units compared to the 21,700 units sold during the first quarter of last year.
What These Sales Mean for You
The popularity of the Chevrolet Bolt comes as no surprise. Considering that the automaker put a halt in production last year, the jump in sales has less to do about popularity and more to do with availability. It’s also important to point out that the Bolt is an affordable electric vehicle making it a nice starting point for drivers who are looking to go electric.
The Trailblazer’s popularity is primarily thanks to the continued appeal of this relatively new SUV. As more drivers are being pulled toward the new Trailblazer, they’re subsequently being pulled away from the automaker’s once leading SUV, the Blazer.
As far as the Chevy Colorado goes, the automaker is committed to reigniting interest after the planned redesign for 2023. While industry experts are still waiting for those numbers to come in, Chevy has high hopes that the Colorado will redeem itself in the coming quarters.
