The Porsche Taycan is much better than any Tesla you could buy. This should be a given, but sometimes you have to show people.
It might be the first Porsche EV, but it certainly didn’t come in as a developmental model. This new all-electric sports car hit the market and took it by storm. In fact, the Taycan has been so successful that Porsche has had to make more of them than expected. Since the Mission E concept, there’s been no stopping this incredible electric Porsche.
Here are seven reasons you’ll want the Taycan and not a Tesla.
Even this electric Porsche starts at the 911
The look, shape, and presence of the Porsche 911 has been found in every single Porsche since the car first debuted. Even the Cayenne and Panamera find their roots in the 911. The Taycan isn’t immune to this iconic influence, and we love it. You certainly can’t find a Tesla with the same heritage or commitment to pure quality and design. The Sport Turismo wagon version brings more style and functionality while still using styling cues from the venerable 911.
The Taycan has a gorgeous interior
Some Porsche sports cars are space and limited in their interior style and finishes. That’s not the case for the Porsche Taycan. This impressive electric Porsche brings the luxury finishes and elements befitting a car in its class. You won’t feel like Porsche forgot the interior when you drive this amazing electric sports car. Instead, you’ll love the way it sounds, drives, and feels when you take it out to show it off around town.
A cool piece of analog functionality
The dashboard of the Taycan is covered in screens, technology, and digital elements. This is typical of most electric vehicles, but this Porsche has one analog feature. The Sport Chrono package, which is an option for this Porsche EV, is available with the analog stopwatch that sits on top of the dashboard. Some might think this item is a bit out of place, while others will admire the analog functionality offered. Either way, it’s pretty cool to see an analog stopwatch in a high-performance EV.
Braking made better with advanced regen
Porsche says that more than 90% of the braking done during normal driving can be accomplished using the electric motors. This saves the actual brake pads in the Porsche Taycan for when you take this car out to the track for some fun. The regenerative braking system captures the energy and sends it to the batteries to add more driving range. The Taycan can regenerate up to 265 kW of energy while braking, which is much better than anything Tesla offers in its electric vehicle lineup.
Taycan is not as boring as Model
It’s pretty clear what Tesla was going for with its naming system. The letters are supposed to spell out SEXY, but the Model 3 messed that up. The fact that all of the names start with Model makes them boring. The Taycan offers a fantastic name that makes it unique and interesting. This amazing car brings several different options for power and features. You won’t mix up the Taycan with any other Porsche, much like you wouldn’t with the other names from this high-end sports car brand.
Super-fast charging makes a difference
The Taycan can reach about 80% of its full charge in only 20 minutes. This is one of the fastest-charging EVs in the market. Thanks to the 800V architecture, this Porsche charges faster than any Tesla connected to the Supercharger network. This charging speed certainly helps because the Taycan came in with one of the lowest driving range ins the market, but that hasn’t stopped this car from being one of the top choices of many EV drivers.
Amazing colors and wheels
Would you expect anything less from Porsche? The Porsche Taycan brings some great colors and wheel styles to give you a look you want to enjoy. Turn toward Tesla, and you can say the colors and wheels are boring at best. If you want a car that shows up and shows off, you want the Porsche EV, which can be had in a variety of great colors and with some interesting wheel designs. Porsche isn’t shy about giving this car everything you want for the drive.
The Porsche Taycan is much more exciting, unique, and alluring than any of the Tesla EV models. Will you take the Taycan home today?
