Hyundai Announces Subscription For Its Cars

The unthinkable is happening. Now, you can get a Hyundai car with its new subscription service. But is it worth it? Let’s check out Hyundai’s Evolve+.

Car subscription services are not exactly brand new, but they are new enough that not everyone knows about them yet. Hyundai, one of the world’s premier automakers, has announced such a service to the American public, a car subscription service that gives people a car and more for a monthly cost. This subscription is only for consumers considering switching to electric vehicles and it’s called Evolve+. The two vehicles available in this subscription are the Hyundai Kona Electric and the Hyundai Ioniq. The South Korean car manufacturer is new to the car subscription game, but they are promising consumers an easy, simple way to own a car, or at least kind of own a car.

Now your car can just be like your Netflix subscription! What?! It’s kind of weird, but it’s super cool. There’s more to find out, keep reading to learn more.

Car Subscriptions

Car subscriptions are becoming more common and even more popular. Hyundai is joining a race that has already begun, but with Hyundai’s reputation of manufacturing quality electric vehicles, they won’t have any problem competing with the big boys.

With companies such as Porsche offering car subscriptions and projects such as Hertz My Car, and Turo, it’s time automotive companies get creative with the ways they use their cars. Hyundai is offering two cars to consumers for subscription use. The Kona Electric and the Ioniq are the two in question. Hyundai wants this subscription service to highlight its fully-electric vehicles more than anything else.

Available in 7 cities and 6 states, this subscription could cost anywhere between $699 and $899. That’s a lot, right? Well, not exactly.

What Do You Get With Evolve+

In addition to getting one of these two cars, you get a little more. The price may seem high for a monthly payment, but the price is all-encompassing. What does that mean?

While it is unsure whether you’ll be able to find this subscription at a Hyundai dealership near you, there will be ways to explore this subscription through the manufacturer.

Subscribers to this service, depending on which car they get, will be getting a car, registration, insurance, maintenance, and roadside assistance. For example, if you were to subscribe to the Kona Electric, you’d be paying $699 and getting all of this included with your monthly payment. Not a bad deal.

What’s the Catch

Well, there is not exactly a catch, but there are some things to know before signing up for this service.

What’s nice about Evolve+ is that you can discontinue your subscription at any point, according to Hyundai. That said, there are some rules and regulations to know about. To get into this subscription service, drivers must be at least 25 years old, have 3 years of clean driving records, and have a 650 minimum credit score.

Visit your Hyundai dealership to learn more about this service.
