When designing and producing cars, many automakers looking to build and sell models at high volumes, but sometimes you see cars that are only produced in a small number. 1971 Pontiac GTO Judge Convertible

Only 17 versions of this car were made as this car reached a time when others would take over. The GTO was one of the biggest hits of the 1960s and the Judge was something special. Most didn’t look to this car as a convertible for the drive. This rare classic American car used a 7.4-liter V8 engine to offer 335 horsepower and an incredible top speed.

1954 Oldsmobile F-88

This car was a concept car that was designed by a group of four to give the world a car that features swooping elegant curves that were astonishingly gorgeous. This car used the Rocket V8 engine for power to give us 250 horsepower and a four-speed automatic transmission. With only four models of this car built, it became one of the rarest classic American cars ever made.

1966 Dodge Coronet Hem Four Door

Offered first in the 1950s with excellent power from the 426 Hemi engine, this car was typically only offered as a two-door model. With a few customers asking for a four-door model, there were four of these Dodge Coronet models built. These four were powered by a 7.0-liter Hemi V8 engine to give us 426 horsepower and a top speed of 130 mph.

1954 Packard Panther

This car was produced as a proof of concept and not meant as a commercial design or for a large audience. Good thing since only four models of this car were ever made. The engine was a 5.9-liter V8 that produced 275 horsepower. This car could reach a top speed of 131mph and it was 17-feet long. One of these models recently sold at auction for around $700,000 because it’s one of the rarest classic American cars ever made.

1970 Ford Torino King Cobra

Only three models of this car were ever made because it was a prototype vehicle that was designed to compete with the Dodge Charger Daytona in NASCAR. This amazing car used a 7.0-liter semi-hemi V8 engine that produced 700 horsepower while connected to a four-speed manual transmission. This was certainly one of the rarest classic American cars ever made and it could reach 155 mph.

1969 Chevrolet Corvette ZL-1

Three models of this rare Corvette were ever produced for this sleek and expensive supercar that defined an iconic American era. The ZL-1 package was only offered for the `969 model year and only three were ever ordered to make it one of the rarest cars you could find from this era. This car used a 7.0-liter V8 engine to offer 585 horsepower and one was recently sold for around $1.4 million.

1967 Dodge Coronet R/T Hemi Convertible

The Dodge Coronet was one of the most popular models in the 1960s, which makes it odd that only four models of this particular trim were built. Even so, the R/T Hemi Convertible model was only built four times, giving us one of the rarest classic American cars offered. This car used a 6.9-liter Hemi V8 engine to produce 425 horsepower and offer a 144 mph top speed.
