Kia Expects a lot from the New Sorento

With the next generation of the Kia Sorento on the horizon, we’ve found this SUV giving us a look at what it will be when it arrives.

This midsize crossover SUV has been one that finds its way in the middle of the Kia SUV lineup to make sure we have a fantastic vehicle that fits nearly everything we need it to. This new model has been seen in a variety of places, doing different things, to give you a great way to have the ride that you’ll admire in the future.

A Change of Venue for Kia

It shouldn’t come as any surprise at all that the new Kia Sorento is being tested on the Nurburgring track in Germany. This is the same racetrack that the Kia Stinger was developed on and it has been the testing track for more performance cars than any other track in the world. The query has a lot to do with why an SUV that’s built for family use and as an affordable choice would be turning laps at the Nurburgring? It’s possible that Kia is hoping the Sorento will be used as a Ring Taxi in the future, but the fact is, this SUV has been spinning wheels and turning fast laps during testing.

A Lot of Camouflage was Used

Even though we know the SUV that was spotted at Nurburgring is the Kia Sorento, a large amount of camouflage was used to conceal the design and the features of this SUV from our view. This means we can’t figure out what changes have been made to the bodywork or see what features might have been added to upgrade this SUV. Even so, we can talk about the fact that Kia has decided to take the same development path as some of the German brands by testing and developing their vehicles on this track.

The Previous Testing was Strenuous

The previous view of the next generation of the Kia Sorento that was shown gave us a look at a vehicle that was performing some strenuous and taxing activities. This SUV was towing a BMW X5, which seemed to be an interesting test for the tow rating of this new Kia SUV. Now that Kia has taken this vehicle to the track for some performance testing, we can hope that the next model of this SUV will have the capability and performance qualities we want to see and enjoy.

When Will We See the New Sorento?

The new version of the Kia Sorento is expected to be part of the 2021 model year. This means we’re likely to see this SUV make the rounds at the various automotive shows later this year or early next year and then show up in the early part of next year for us to enjoy the drive. Until then, we’ll have to hope the Kia brand becomes a bit more revealing with the new Sorento.
