The Camouflage is Removed from the Audi e-Tron
Now, it’s time for the covers to come off so that we can see the Audi e-Tron for what it will be when it arrives on the market soon.
When you see the models that make their way to the stages and booths at an auto show, the one thing you don’t expect to see is a car that’s covered in camouflage. Audi decided that it wanted to do things differently last year with the new e-Tron that was still wrapped in the garb meant to hide the curves and the look of the vehicle as a concept model that would give us an idea of what the future of Audi driving would be.
The Audi Q4 brings and e-Tron Concept to the Stage
This year, the Geneva Motor Show is where we see a number of impressive SUVs that come from a variety of brands for us to admire. One such SUV is the new Audi Q4 e-Tron concept model. This will be the fifth electric model offered by the Audi brand and it’s sized to slot between the Q3 and Q5 in the lineup for the brand. This new electric model showed up looking like it was ready to head to the production line today.
Powering this New Audi
Even though the Q4 e-Tron is a concept model, we do know what it offers for the drive that we’re looking for from new models that are presented. This new electric model has a pair of motors that make it possible for it to have 301 horsepower for the drive. That’s good enough to give you a sprint to sixty mph in only 6.3 seconds. The top speed is limited to 112 mph to help ensure the range isn’t reduced by driving at the higher speeds on the highway. The expected range is 280 miles from the 82 kWh battery pack that’s fitted under the vehicle between the axles.
Making the Move Forward for Audi
We expect to see the new Q4 e-Tron in its production form by the end of next year to go along with the four other models that will be on the market by that time. Those other models include the new e-Tron Sportback and the Q2L e-Tron which will only be offered in China. This new Q4 model will be in the upper part of the compact class with a cabin that will give you more space than you expect because there’s no transmission tunnel cut into the floor.
The Plant from Audi
This new Q4 e-Tron concept is built in the MEB Volkswagen Group electric platform and it will be one of many models we see in the future. The new e-Tron GT could be offered at the same time as the Q4 and by the year 2025, there could be as many as 12 all-electric models offered to give us the electric drive we want. We can look forward to more electric vehicles from Audi and you can be certain they will have the amazing interior features we already love from this brand.
