Toyota Continues to Invest, Innovate, and Inspire for the Future

Most of us recognize our children are the future and that we are in an information age that is ready to continue for the next generation and beyond. Toyota has recognized this and is ready to invest heavily in programs around the country that aid the education of the children in classrooms.

Collaboration in Dallas

Recently, Toyota, the Dallas Independent School District, and SMU have joined together to create a STEM-focused school in the West Dallas area. This school offers a curriculum that’s based on projects that involve technology, engineering, math, and science.

They also align with the businesses in which they could be applied. This is an excellent way for students that show a strong aptitude in these areas. It also allows them to be able to find success and a place where they can develop and advance the skills they possess.

The Grant for the Development from Toyota

Toyota has granted $2 million to SMU’s Annette Caldwell Simmons School of Education and Human Development to help create the curricula that will be used. The team working on this project will offer advice regarding the educational process.

It will also provide professional development for the teachers and coordinate nonprofit operations in the area for the projects and programs. Additionally, it will monitor/evaluate the program as it moves forward. The school will be operated and staffed by the Dallas Independent School District to ensure qualified and quality teachers are in place to aid the students of this new school.

Bringing in Several Groups

The Dallas area is large, metropolitan, and always expanding. Because of this, there are many nonprofits that can help make this school a success. They can also benefit from the projects and technologies developed by the students of this new school.
