Bringing Back the Honda Insight

Honda Insight

You might think of the Toyota Prius as the first hybrid car on the market, but the first mass-market hybrid model was actually the Honda Insight.
This car has made its way to the market in a couple different forms but it hasn’t quite been the success story that we see with the Prius. Even so, Honda isn’t ready to give up on this car and leave it in the trash bin just yet. The new Honda Insight is scheduled to be part of the 2019 model year to bring the total number of hybrid models from Honda to three.

We will see the prototype version of the new Insight next month when the Detroit Auto Show comes to town with the production model arriving later for the 2019 model year. This new version of the Insight is expected to be an impressive improvement over what we’ve seen in the past from the team at Honda to make sure we can have a hybrid car that we’ll want to drive in the future. This new model from Honda will be powered with what we want when it’s time to get out on the road and let this hybrid model be the car that’s right for the drive.

What We Should See

So far, what we do know about the new Insight is the fact that this car will have a two-motor hybrid system that offers the fuel economy which will be competitive with other compact hybrid models on the market. The outgoing Accord Hybrid gives us an idea of what we might expect from this model. This car used a similar two-motor hybrid powertrain that offered us 49 city/47 hwy mpg for the driving experience that we have on the roads when we get out and enjoy the ride.
The new Insight is expected to be offered as one of the largest compact sedans on the market which is offered as a hybrid model that you’ll want to have when you head out on the road. This new car is going to bring a dynamic stance and a cabin that is roomy to make sure it’s a comfortable car for you to drive and experience on the road when you’re ready for the ride. This will be an electric vehicle that won’t force you into the typical tradeoffs that tend to happen with some of the other hybrid models that we see on the market.
The new Honda Insight is scheduled to be built at the Greensburg, IN plant where the current Honda Civic and CR-V are built for the different Honda dealers across the US. This new car will be added to the group to make sure we can have an energy efficient lineup which will also offer you Clarity models and the new Accord Hybrid. The Clarity will be offered in three different models to make sure you can have the drive you’re looking for so that you can experience the drive you want on the roads. We can look forward to the Insight and what it has to offer you over the next several months.
