Nissan Knows the Sedan isn’t Dead
Has the sedan market taken a downward turn and become one that’s no longer desired in the way it once was? That’s absolutely true with the SUV market that has grown exponentially to bring us more of the models we want to enjoy when it’s time to have a ride out on the roads we drive. Does that mean the market for sedans is dead? There were six million reasons to believe that’s not the case at all from the sales that were experienced last year. Sedans still offer us an important part of the market and are why we see brands like Nissan continue to develop these models.
Nissan is preparing to update the sedan model offered to make sure we can have more of these cars that we want to drive and experience when it’s time for the ride out on the road. This team feels there is potential for growth in the sedan segment in order to bring more of the qualities we want to the road when it’s time for a drive that will make a huge difference for you. This market is strong and the 2018 Nissan Altima, Sentra, and Versa will all be updated and improved for the future.
What Makes Sedans Right for the Drive
Yes, we want versatility when we drive and the difference between a large SUV and a sedan is a widespread one. However, the difference between a compact SUV and a sedan isn’t much at all with a bit less cargo room for the ride. The sedan is going to give you more fuel mileage and comes at a lower price than the SUVs that you can choose for the drive, making sedans important to the market. Nissan sees this importance and is working hard to make sure the next batch of sedans is ready to drive sooner rather than later.
The two main competitors for the Nissan Altima were just revamped to give us more of what we want when it’s time to get behind the wheel, which allows the Nissan team to take this one step farther to offer more of the items we want when we drive a sedan. The Altima could be the most impressive new midsize sedan in the market going forward and we may see electrification play a huge role in the market when it’s time to see what the trio of sedans will bring for the drive.
There are still many models of sedans sold every year and just because the SUV market is now selling more often than the sedan market, doesn’t mean we need to get rid of sedans altogether. This logic would mean we need to rid the market of everything that’s not an SUV, which would be an awful feeling and view when you go to a dealership. Thankfully, most automakers are wise enough to know they need to continue to offer sedans for the driving experience we want to have when it’s time to get out on the road for a drive.
