When the 2019 model year begins there will be a new version of one of the most trusted pickup trucks on the market for you to admire and enjoy. The Chevrolet Silverado is all-new and ready to launch as we’ve seen at the Detroit Auto Show this year. This is a truck that has been trusted as being tough, rugged, and ready to get the job done when you want to head out and have the driving and towing ability you need on a daily basis. There are several things you should know about what the Silverado brings for 2019; here are some of them:
Hauling – When you need to carry the load in the new Silverado, you’re going to find that you have more room and more places to secure the load than you’ve had in the past. The bed has been increased in width by nearly seven inches and there are twelve fixed tie-down points to make it possible for you to secure the items you need to take with you. There are also lockable in-bed storage bins that can be had with this truck as well.
Cleverly Improved – The new tailgate of the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado will make it easier for you to know your load is secure. The tailgate will have a power up and down function to help you keep things that shift from falling out when you let the tailgate down. There are also small storage cubbies that are under the rear seats to help you keep items from shifting around. The corner-step bumper also has larger cutouts to make it easy for you to access with your steel-toe boots.
Tougher – If it’s possible for the Silverado to look tougher than it did, this truck has more of a tough look to give you everything you want in the appearance. More than just a pretty face, the Silverado has a bed floor made of higher-strength steel than in the past to make it possible for this truck to withstand potential damage better than before.
Extensive Testing – The metrics used in many of the key elements of toughness and durability were doubled with this new truck to make it the most extensively tested truck ever built. There were over seven million miles driven in this truck to provide the real-world testing needed that would make this the truck that should become the right choice for you to get things done.
Power to Drive – The same engine sizes are being used, but both V8 models are being upgraded with Dynamic Fuel Management which will shut down any number of the cylinders at a time to reduce the fuel consumption when out on the road. This allows you to have the power you’re used to with the Silverado while you also have the ability to enjoy the fact this truck can offer you an improved level of fuel mileage when you’re ready to head out for a drive.
Yay! A Diesel – There will be a diesel powertrain offered for the new Silverado and it won’t be relegated to the heavy-duty models only. This new powertrain will make use of a 3.0-liter diesel engine which is set up as an inline six-cylinder layout. This engine will make use of the new and efficient ten-speed automatic transmission to be a powerful choice when you want more power for the ride you need to make on a daily basis.
Available Models – The Chevrolet Silverado isn’t built to only appeal to one customer base, but to everyone that wants to experience the drive in this truck. Because of this, there will be eight different levels to choose from starting with the aptly named Work Truck and moving to the height of the luxury-laden High Country trim that can be perfect for your drive.
Comfort – If you want a comfortable place to enjoy the drive and have the ride you’re looking for, the Chevrolet Silverado offers you what you want with interior space that has grown in every body style. This added comfort and space is the result of a longer wheelbase and body to make sure you can have the ride you want and offer your family a great drive as well.
Much Lighter – Even though the new Silverado is bigger than it was in the past, this truck has lost 450 pounds in the crew cab models. By mixing materials and keeping steel where it’s needed, the Chevrolet team was able to create a Silverado that offers weight losses where it makes sense and a continued toughness where you need it.
