Showing Off Lexus in Miami

While this wasn’t the big reveal, at least not for anyone who covered the Beijing Motor Show, the Lexus IS for 2017 made its way to the Miami Auto Show to give us an up close and personal look at what this car will be going forward. As the entry level vehicle from Lexus, the IS is one of the most popular models for the brand and gives you a luxury vehicle for less than most others. This car came to Miami to show off and it did a great job of doing just that, making a serious showing at this venue.

The new IS has some improvements that you’ll love to enjoy including items such as a reworking of the spindle grill with the F Sport models adding a mesh pattern that’s been finished in black paint. Next to this you’ll notice the brake cooling ducts that help keep the brakes ready to perform at their best to keep this car under control, which certainly is needed on a car that offers the Lexus performance and carries the F Sport badging.

These aren’t the only changes you’ll notice as you can see the hood is larger than before and has a raised area in the center of it along with standard LED headlights that give you that luxury feeling on the car. At the rear of the new IS you get to see a restyled bumper and new taillights along with a set of attractive new rectangular chrome exhaust ports.

Looking to the inside and the technology of the new IS, Lexus has added the Lexus Safety System+ as a standard part of the car to give you the pre-collision system, lane departure warnings with steering assistance, blind spot monitoring, and all the other luxury electronics you want to have in a car like this. The cupholders, audio and HVAC control panel have all been changed and improved in order to give you the look you want to enjoy. The infotainment system screen is now a full 10.3 inches and it uses the Remote Touch Interface to give you a great way to control the connectivity of the system with you. Listening to the music you choose has never been easier as this car now offers a Mark Levinson premium sound system that gives you fifteen speakers of listening pleasure.

The power of the new IS will be familiar to you as it offers the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and the 3.5-liter V6 to give you a differentiation of power with the larger engine producing 306 horsepower for this small car. You can have the IS in either RWD or AWD and enjoy the drive anywhere you want to carve up corners and take through the curves to have a car that’s an active and attractive vehicle for you to enjoy wherever you want to go. The new IS gives us a lot to think about and desire when it comes to driving manners and excitingly attractive styling on one of the most affordable luxury cars on the market.
