Two Luxury Sports Sedans to Consider

When shopping in the compact luxury car segment one of the most active and an attractive car that comes to mind is the Mercedes-Benz C450 AMG. This is a car that sits at the top of the luxury sport sedan class to give us one of the most impressive cars to ever make its way to the market. Even though this car is the mark other automakers look to beat, most haven’t even come close until now. The Infiniti Q50 Red Sport 400 is a car that is made to give the C450 AMG a run for its money and challenge it in many different ways.

Looking at sheer numbers; the Infiniti model shows up powered by a 3.0-liter twin turbocharged V6 engine that makes 400 horsepower and 350 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine is attached to a seven-speed automatic transmission to give this car smooth and quick shifting and the Q50 starts out at $47,950. The Mercedes-Benz on the other hand, shows up with a 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine that doesn’t have turbocharging and gives you 362 horsepower with 384 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine also uses a seven-speed automatic transmission and starts at $50,800.

When you drive the Infiniti you will enjoy the active feeling and the power that is included in this car. The engine is a major upgrade that offers you a rocket ship on wheels. The steering is much better than it ever was before to give you the most engaging and responsive steering you could ask for. In order to harness all the aggression of the Q50 Red Sport the car offers you massive brakes for great stopping power and a wonderful driver assistance package and full complement of airbags should they be needed when you’re driving your new Q50.

On the downside the Q50 Red Sport 400 looks the same as the base model and the interior shows a feeling of boredom, especially for a car that should be much more impressively designed and presented to give you the feeling of excitement before you ever step foot in the car. Unfortunately the infotainment system is difficult for some people to use, but if you’re looking for a car that is close to the level of a Mercedes-Benz sport sedan without the need to pay the high price this Infiniti makes a great choice and will give you a ride that is a lot of fun when you find open roads to let it loose on.

Looking to the Mercedes-Benz you immediately notice a difference. The interior is exceptional and looks like it belongs on a sport sedan. The quality of materials is impressive and the overall look is upscale compared to the Q50. While this car has less horsepower it’s also 300 pounds lighter than the Q50 and offers you more torque to get the car going and enjoy the low end power. The steering is exceptional in the C450 AMG and you have a choice of different modes to drive in to have the setup you want.

The engine sound is great in the AMG and the car feels more agile and a bit smaller than the Q50 to make it a car that feels like it can handle the job on the road much better. The cabin of the C450 isn’t as quiet as the Q50, but that does allow you to enjoy the engine noise in a much better way. The C450 does have similar safety features and driver assistance features as the Q50, but they are more intuitive to use in the Q50 making the Infiniti a great choice for those who are on a budget for their car shopping.
