The automotive market we live in today has more customers with the desire to have cars that can tear up the track but are also built to have the mild manners needed to perform properly in traffic on public streets as well. Gone are the days of keeping your Ferrari for just the racetrack, more people are looking to show off their cars on every road in the area to show us a great car that is perfect for driving home from the track after capturing the checkered flag. Here are some cars that are perfect for both the road and the track.
Ferrari 458 Speciale – This is a car that Enzo Ferrari himself would be proud to drive. This beauty is absolutely gorgeous, as fast as you can find and offers the driving experience you want to enjoy. This car has more tech aboard than the track only version and gives you the agility you need on the track while minding its manners on the road.
Porsche Cayman R – Adding a lower ride height, wider stance and better anti-roll bars while also taking out 121 pounds from the previous Cayman S model made this a car that could come close to rivaling the 911 on the track. Even though the engine only added ten horsepower to bring the number to 330 this was plenty to make this a track and road champion and a great choice when looking for a Porsche.
Ford Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca – As resurrection in 2012 of the Boss 302 gave us a car that offered 444 horsepower from the lauded 5.0-liter V8 engine. This car can take your breath away in a heartbeat and give you the perfect drive on the track while also offering you a drive that you can enjoy with some friends on the public streets in your area.
Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series – AMG is a moniker we know to be a performance mark for Mercedes-Benz, but having the Black Series takes this performance even a little higher to be the track ready version of this car. With the meanness of a muscle car and the precision of a German luxury car this is a great car on and off the track.
Chevrolet Corvette Z06 – Chevrolet put a premium on more than just power in the C7 version of the Corvette. These cars are awesome to handle as well and are capable of whipping around a figure eight track faster than nearly every other car on the market. Of course you can take your Z06 for a drive through town as well since they are perfectly built for the road.
BMW M3 Lime Rock Park Edition – This version of the perfect driving machine is one that has shown off on many canyon runs and made its way around several tracks in a way that is indescribable. The M3 is the perfect machine for driving whether you want to tear up a track with the performance pars and the 444 horsepower or you have a deserted part of the road that just needs your attention.
Dodge Viper SRT-10 ACR – While the Vipers still gives us challenges in many ways because it’s a car that should only be driven by those that know how, it can handle the track and the road. The Viper is comfortable for some and too much for others, but for those that love the Viper they certainly won’t complain when it comes to the massive performance of this great car.
Nissan GT-R Nismo – Quick around the turns and sharp on the acceleration this 600 horsepower beauty will handle everything you give in and still come close to 200 mph on a straight run on the track. This gorgeous machine is perfect for your track time and for driving to the store for a gallon of milk.
Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 – At the top of the performance lineup for the Camaro the Z/28 has been the car we want to drive every single day. It’s a good thing Chevrolet knew this and made this car one that could rip up a track but also be used for our daily driving.
