Can anything be better than a Corvette Z06?

The Corvette has been through several generations and all of them have been awesome. With the newest technology and the latest in carbon-fiber body elements as well as high-end aerodynamics the Corvette Z06 by itself packs quite a punch. At this model, the car is powered by a 6.2-liter LT4 V8 that shows up with a super strong 650 horsepower to fully stick you right in your seat when riding down the road. Adding to that the car offers some of the best handling and most amazing control any car can have on the road or track, but how can this power be seriously increased?

Hennessey has found the answer to increasing the power for the Z06. With some of their upgrades the Corvette Z06 can reach 750, 850 and even 1000 horsepower. This massive increase in horsepower is achieved through a variety of upgrade packages that help make the Z06 become the car of anyone’s dreams and makes it easily one of the fastest on the track. With this power and handling there are few cars that will even come close to challenging the Corvette that are in its class. Of course, it’s not something you’ll find at your local Chevy dealership. It may have to reach up a class to find a worthy opponent.

The basic upgrade to 750 horsepower called HPE750 is fairly simple to achieve. This upgrade calls for upgraded cylinder heads, a new camshaft profile, a new intercooler, a pulley upgrade and tuning. Having these upgrades added still brings in a 3 year/36,000 mile limited warranty, which is a pretty good deal in order to gain the added horsepower of this basic upgrade. Even though this is a nice jump up to the 750 mark, the goal of reaching up to 1000 horsepower required even more upgrades than this first one.

Both the HPE850 and HPE1000 for 850 horsepower and 1000 horsepower respectively will require the installation of a Hennessey supercharger, which Hennessey will do in order to make sure it has been done correctly and the horsepower can be improved to this amount. Because the Corvette already has a fantastic interior and the aerodynamics package is second to none, there are no upgrades in these categories from Hennessey. The brakes will remain the Z06 stock brakes as well, basically, the Corvette Z06 as we all know is already an awesome car and will continue to be so but these minor tweaks will certainly help when it’s time to take it to the track.

The Corvette Z06 can have a massive amount of improvement in horsepower just by having a few tweaks done to it. Taking this 650 horsepower monster to a 1000 track ready racing machine is a great way to allow the Corvette to show off the height of its capability. Of course it will cost you quite a bit to add the Hennessey Supercharger to the car in order to gain the best possible performance, but it’s a Corvette, you’ve got to let it show off and give you everything you want from this car and with help from Hennessey you can.
