Racing prowess from Mercedes-Benz
When you can boast about 101 podium appearances, 52 class victories, 34 total victories, 6 championships and 2 endurance wins you have something very special happening. In the world of racing, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 boasted these numbers during this past racing season and look for even better results in the coming year. Like most racing teams, Mercedes-Benz has created a dynamic racing team under the AMG partnership that has produced amazing results each and every year it has been running. Mercedes-Benz has quickly become a leading name in the world of racing and expects to continue this amazing performance for many years.
The official announcement that Mercedes-Benz was working on a new variant of the AMG GT racing lineup came earlier in the year and is expected to be released for the 2016 racing season. Due to new FIA regulations, the new version of the AMG GT will not be powered by the same 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine as before, but rather one that falls in line with the FIA regulations. No matter though, even with stricter regulations Mercedes-Benz will have the top notch performance and engineering for their race car and still be able to post a very impressive racing season.
Why is the release of this new variant of the racing car important? It will spurn the development of a wide range of new models. These new models will begin with the new SLS AMG GT3 being ready to race, but through the testing, which will be extensive, Mercedes-Benz will learn and test new ideas which may be seen throughout the entire Mercedes-Benz lineup and give a whole new look to what a Mercedes-Benz sedan or coupe is for the upcoming years. This could spark a new excitement (even though they continue to be hugely successful) for the Mercedes-Benz lineup of vehicles.
The support owners enjoy for their AMG GT models will continue even with the new versions being released soon. This support and spare part supply service will continue to be provided for owners of these amazing sports cars. This means keeping your AMG GT in pristine condition and still being able to run it hard without worry of not being able to actually get the parts that you need to keep it perfect and running like a dream at all times.
Currently the AMGT GT3 produces 462 horsepower from its engine, in the S model it reaches up to 510 horsepower. The expectation the new engine and specification needed for the AMG GT3 will pass by 600 horsepower while still adhering to the strict specification needed to be a serious track monster that can continue to amass awards at a record pace. Until we actually get to see what the new SLS AMG GT3 is we won’t be able to tell how much better it is than the current version, but knowing it will be fully scrutinized you can be sure Mercedes-Benz will have it right before we every get a single peek at it.
