2014 Chevrolet SS: Not The Average Sedan
What is it any car guy or gal wants? More power, big V8 engines, speed and quickness, handling and agility, but many need all of this in a sedan rather than an actual sports car. If for some reason the highly popular Chevrolet Impala was not enough along comes the 2014 Chevrolet SS. A beautifully purposed sedan with conservative lines and a look of a really nice family car, but looks can be deceiving, the 2014 Chevrolet SS packs a huge punch.
Whether being driven on the open road, as a daily commuter, or just puttering around town running errands, the 2014 Chevrolet SS gets the job done. With all the power put into this family sedan, this beast is meant for the open road, but is quite capable of performing the daily tasks as well, knowing the owner will once again unleash the beast within very soon.
The 2014 Chevrolet SS was built for power, not built to be downgraded into a sensible family sedan, but rather built to offer a ton of power even in the conservative outer shell. With this in mind, the 2014 Chevrolet SS is only offered with a massive 6.2-liter V8 engine offering 415 horsepower and 415 lb.-ft. of torque, a beast of an engine hidden by the sensible exterior of a family sedan. The gas mileage, it’s really hard to call it fuel economy on a V8 sedan, comes in at 14 city/21 hwy mpg, not a great fuel saver, but that is not the purpose of this road hog.
Instead of offering the gaudy array of button on the center stack has come along in the past few years, the 2014 Chevrolet SS give the owner a feel of yesteryear in a modern vehicle by offering a functional interior that isn’t overdone. Offered in black, the leather and suede-like trim give a uniquely business feeling to the inside of the 2014 Chevrolet SS.
On the outside the 2014 Chevrolet SS looks like a boring family sedan with only a hint of speed with prominent fender vents, large grille openings, a rear lip spoiler and 19-inch wheels. The real power is and showy features are all hidden under the hood in the huge engine.
Standard on the 2014 Chevrolet SS are heated and cooled 10-way power front seats, a 9-speaker Bose audio system, a head-up color display, HID headlights and Chevy’s MyLink infotainment with an 8-inch touch screen including navigation. Offering safety with all this standard equipment the SS is equipped with forward collision alert, lane-departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, side blind zone alert, rear parking sensors and an automatic parking system.
Because the 2014 Chevrolet SS comes fully loaded as standard, and is only offered in one trim, the optional features only have two items listed, a power sunroof and a full size spare tire. Nothing else is really needed in this highly powerful yet sensibly styled family sedan.
With all the features, the huge engine, and sensible comfort, the 2014 Chevrolet SS starts out at a reasonable asking price of $45,770 and because of the only two additional features can only jump a few hundred dollars. Instead of having a vehicle that starts out leaving a lot more to be asked for, the 2014 Chevrolet SS starts out great and only has a couple additions, quite a nice change from the normal car buying experience.
The 2014 Chevrolet SS is a great car for the family that has a car guy or gal in it and doesn’t want to settle for the normal four or six-cylinder boring sedan with no power. The huge V8 engine, long list of great standard features, and conservative look make the 2014 Chevrolet SS a great family sedan for any family who wants a great driving experience.
