Volvo to Complete Concept Car Trilogy Next Month
It’s common for automakers to make a big fuss out of concept cars even though so many of them never see the road on a mass scale, but Volvo is putting extra emphasis on their “trilogy” of concept car releases with the culmination coming next month at the Geneva Motor Show.
With the shift towards a single platform model, the company hopes to highlight their plans for the future… and for now. This is a make or break moment for Volvo as they continue to pursue the dream of being part of the mainstream rather than the company known specifically for being safe. They want a sexier image and if their concept cars are any indication, they’re well on their way to achieving that goal.
According to Digital Trends:
Volvo senior vice president of design Thomas Ingenlath will probably give the new concept a similar look to its predecessors, with curved surfacing that stands in stark contrast to the boxy Volvo designs of the past, and a front end based around an attractive oval grille that is likely to become a brand trademark.
