Hondas have been known for safety for years. Now, they just won another prestigious award demonstrating their commitment to not only helping people who get into a wreck but also in avoiding the accident altogether.
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety named Honda the safest overall brand in 2013. This comes after their standard exhaustive test of of just about everything on four wheels. Only 39 received recognition this year compared to 130 cars last year. Standards are getting tougher.

For the first time, the vehicles need top crash test scores and a good front crash prevention system — such as warning systems or automatic braking — to get its highest designation.
