High School Student Wins New Honda Civic with an Essay
The value of a high school education is often easy to see. It’s intended to prepare students for the next phase of their lives, whether it’s to enter the workforce, attend college, or move on in some other way. Rarely is high school work associated with actual immediate rewards of value outside of scholarships, but BreAvery Simpson of South Hills High School in Fort Worth got more than just a good education with his essay.
Frank Kent Honda was the primary sponsor of an essay contest about the use of technology in the future to help and promote Fort Worth. Over 200 students submitted essays and Simpson was selected as the winner from a panel of judges that included Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price, Fort Worth ISD superintendent Walter Dansby, and the owners of Frank Kent Honda, Will Churchill and Corrie Watson.
“This year’s essays were incredible,” said Watson. “The Fort Worth ISD has truly laid an amazing foundation for their students to achieve their dreams and thrive in their future endeavors.”
