Toyota Helps Teens Be Safer Drivers

Toyota knows how important safety is for you and your family. When you take your tiny bundle of joy home from the hospital, they know that you want the safest vehicle to get them there. Through the years and through soccer games, school events, and family vacations, Toyota has the vehicles to keep you and your family safe. When the scary time comes when you have to let your teen take to the road, Toyota is there to make it a little easier, that is why they have the TeenDrive365 Safe Driver Program.

What is the TeenDrive365 Driver Program? It is a pledge for you to be the driver you want your teen to be, because after all, they do learn by watching you. The Pledge: I will always remember that my teen’s safety starts with me and I will commit to setting the best example behind the wheel. Presently 61,545 parents have taken this pledge across the country. So why are parents such an important part of this program? When teens see their parents drive distracted, they themselves become distracted drivers.

Toyota provides tools on their website http://www.toyota.com/teendrive365 to help educate your teen driver. They have videos that show what can happen when you drive distracted, show parents how to be good driving role models, and how to educate your teen driver. They provide a downloadable mutual driving agreement for you and your teen so that both parents and teens understand their responsibilities when it comes to safe teen driving.

Toyota also addresses peer pressure and gives teenagers tools on how to stand up to it. They address the risk of riding with drunk drivers or drivers that are under the influence of intoxicants and give teens tools to say no. Toyota also has a TeenDrive365 Video challenge with the top prize being a $15,000 award and the chance to work with a Discovery Video Crew to reshoot their video into a TV ready PSA.

Toyota has also created a driver safety program for educators to use when talking to teens about safe driving. They offer a test so that educators can see if they are truly ready to take on the role of teaching teens about driver safety. Toyota also host safe driving events and has a distracted driving simulator that drivers can test out so they can see just how risky it is to apply that lipstick while driving as well as teen driver safety clinics within local dealerships. Toyota is committed to the safety of your teen as well as your family.
